  • Meet our new WIMA World officers

I’m honoured to be able to introduce our new WIMA World officers:

    International President Zara Strange:

Zara has served the past 3 years as International Vice-President and during this time she took sole responsibility for organising the agenda and minutes of the ICNP meetings. In addition, she organised all our old agenda records, minutes and other archived documents that my predecessor, Claudia Fehrer, handed over. It is all nice and tidy on WIMA’s cloud space, available to all National Presidents. Her contributions to our meetings and discussions, and her advice, have been invaluable.  Those who know Zara will know that she has a warm heart, a clear head, and is dedicated to WIMA and women’s motorcycling – it’s no surprise that she was recognised with the Ellen Pfeiffer Award a couple of years back. I know that she will lead us well and I’m excited about WIMA’s future!

    International Vice-President Mihaela Hodivoianu:

Mihaela is the founder of WIMA Romania, one of our younger divisions at only 3 years old, but already thriving, well-established and extremely active with get-togethers and projects running throughout the year. Mihaela has also dedicated a great length of time to the difficult task of updating our constitution. We are delighted to have such an energetic and skilled woman as IVP.

    PR Officer Liv Seuring:

Liv is known from her role as an admin in the WRWR, an achievement for which we awarded her honorary lifetime membership in WIMA. Among other things, she was working with PR and she has lots of ideas to take with her to her new role in WIMA. We are thrilled to have someone with her experience and skillset in our team!

    PR Officer Léa Schaetzlé:

Léa is one of our newer members and fully passionate about WIMA. She works with PR professionally and she is multi lingual – we look forward to seeing her working with Liv in what is a fast-moving and challenging area.

    Onwards and upwards,

Åsa, former IP, now “just” a member 🙂

  • WIMA Norway in Straand

    WIMA Norway in Straand

Straand hotel in Vrådal hosts a bike meet, where everything motorcycle related is in focus!

Here, people in the motorcycle community, who are doing something exciting and interesting, get the opportunity to introduce themselves and their project.

WIMA Norway gave a talk and participated in the debate this year, as last year. This time also with our own tent. It was fantastic that so many people stopped by and new women found us and joined our group. Great to chat with WIMA girls from all over the country! Especially; great that the t-shirts got legs to walk on, WIMA’s logo is on the move 🙂
    !

The WIMA stall – the t-shirts are popular, no doubt due to the cool brand new logo!

WIMA had an opportunity to formally talk and get their message across to the audience. WIMA Norway is offering a broad activity calendar covering track days, first aid, gravel training, mechanical training etc. And they have established riding groups all over the country. A key to success it seems as they have now exceeded 300 members, and more are signing up.

Not everyone stayed in the hotell, camping was also an option.

Time to leave, Eli and brand new meber Barbro is packing their bikes.

  • Today we welcome four new divisions to our sisterhood: Canada, Italy, Mexico and Ukraine

WIMA is continuing to grow and we form strong bonds with the connections we made through the WRWR. Today we welcome four new divisions to our sisterhood: Canada, Italy, Mexico and Ukraine!!!!

Maria O’Reilly, WRWR admin – for which she was awarded honorary lifetime membership in WIMA – is starting a new Canadian division of WIMA (the previous division never got up to speed). Uniting women riders in the vast country of Canada is no doubt a great challenge but we have great confidence that Maria is the right person for the role!

Rosaria, former WRWR ambassador and founder of Donne Special, is starting WIMA Italy and we are thrilled – it is about time WIMA gets properly established in Italy, one of the centres of motorcycling. We think Rosaria is the perfect woman for the job!

We are delighted to have Angelica on board with us and see the first ever WIMA division in Latin America open. Angelica has had her eye on WIMA for many years and now we are happy to finally welcome WIMA Mexico and hope to see many more countries in Central and South America to follow suit.

Alena, former WRWR ambassador, is trusted with the role of uniting the Ukraine women riders and building WIMA Ukraine. We have been communicating for quite a while and she has some great ideas up her sleeve.

Welcome Maria, Rosaria, Angelica and Alena to our international sisterhood! We are delighted to have you with us – WIMA now forms a 37 division-strong organisation and we are growing every day!
